Owned and Operated by Women
We are proud to have mostly women working at the Angry Hen whether it be brewing the perfect beer, pouring that perfect pint, or working in the background to make sure everything else is getting done.

Inspired by Japanese flavours and local ingredients, our Gouda EkSPECKtations Burger is a tasty trip around the West Kootenay with a quick excursion to the Okanagan.
Our 5.5oz patty is made with organic beef from McCormack Farm in Burton, BC. and stuffed with crispy shallots, smoked gouda (Armstrong, BC), and speck (Italian cured ham).
The patty is topped with melted furikake gouda. We make our own furikake in house. It is a Japanese seasoning with nori, panko, crispy shallots, yuzu, soy, sesame, gochugaru.
Then we add a slice of crispy speck and our beer-battered (“Happy Pills” European-style pilsner) pickled beet rings grown by Earth Temple Gardens in Meadow Creek.
The brioche bun from the Kootenay Bakery in Nelson is topped with lava salt and sauced up with our house-made smoked onion kewpie (Japanese mayonnaise) and karashi (Japanese mustard).
